Account & Data Deletion
Operator: MonoTools (Hyunsoo Kim, Representative)
Effective date: May 9, 2026
To request deletion of your RecipeKey account or the data associated with it, please follow the procedure below. After identity verification we delete the data within three (3) business days and notify you of the outcome. This page covers two scenarios:
- (A) Full account deletion — closing the membership together with all stored recipe data
- (B) Partial data deletion — keeping the account, removing only specific recipes or data items
1. (A) Request Full Account Deletion
The RecipeKey app does not currently provide an in-app account deletion menu. Please submit your request via the email channel below.
- Send to: [email protected]
- Prefix the subject with “[Account Deletion]” (for triage and SLA tracking)
- Include the following in the body:
- The Google account email used to sign up
- A reachable contact (if different from the sign-up email)
- Reason for deletion (optional)
1-2. (B) Delete Partial Data Only
If you want to keep your account but remove only specific recipes or data items, you have two options.
(i) Delete directly from within the app (recommended — instant)
- Launch the RecipeKey app, open the recipe you want to remove from the home screen
- On the recipe detail screen, tap the menu in the top-right corner and choose “Delete”; the recipe is removed immediately
- To clean up multiple recipes, repeat the above for each one
(ii) Request a bulk deletion by email
- Send to: [email protected]
- Prefix the subject with “[Data Deletion]”
- Include the following in the body:
- The Google account email used to sign up
- The items you want removed (e.g. “all recipes extracted before April 2026,” “a list of specific recipe IDs,” “crash/diagnostic logs”)
2. Data That Will Be Deleted
Once approved, the following data is deleted immediately.
- Account identifiers: email, name, profile image, and Google unique identifier received via Google OAuth
- Extracted recipe data: every recipe extracted by the user, along with edits and serving-size adjustments
- Auth tokens and sessions: access tokens and refresh tokens
- Subscription linkage identifiers: identifiers binding the user account to subscription receipts (the receipt metadata itself is treated under §3)
3. Data Retained Under Korean Law
The items below are subject to mandatory retention under applicable Korean laws and are not deleted immediately. They are de-identified so that the user cannot be identified, and are permanently destroyed once the retention period expires.
- Records of contracts or withdrawals: 5 years (Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Payment and supply records: 5 years (same Act)
- Records of consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years (same Act)
- Access logs: 3 months (Korean Communications Privacy Act)
4. Procedure and SLA
- Email received → acknowledgement reply within one (1) business day
- Identity verification (matching the sign-up email) → within three (3) business days
- Upon successful verification, items in §2 are deleted immediately and the requester is notified
- Items subject to mandatory retention under §3 are de-identified and stored separately
5. Account Suspension Option
If you prefer to keep the account but temporarily disable sign-in, you may request a suspension via the same channel. During suspension, your data is preserved as-is and is restored immediately on your request.
